Day 3 - The Beach, Oasis, & The Wharf!

On Day 3, we finally made it to the beach! We split off from the group and gave the older kids a break from the younger ones. They went for a boat ride and we headed to the beach. Addison loved the water and sand, but was a little skiddish at first of the waves breaking all around her. We spent the latter part of the morning at the beach and then we headed back to the Oasis for an afternoon of fun in the sun! After leaving the Oasis, we had to say goodbye to Aunt Kate, Sloan & Molly because they had to go back to school and work. Addison fell sound asleep only seconds after landing in her car seat and this gave Lee time drive around and reminisce the old days and all of his time spent in the area. We headed back to Pap & Suzy's, got ready, and took them out to dinner. We went to Guy Harvey's restaurant at The Wharf and it was wonderful. Anyone visiting the beach area should take note that the wait time for restaurants at The Wharf were ZERO - so if you are looking for good food, but don't want to wait you know where to go! Once we were back home, Lee and Addison, of course, helped Pap get his fishing poles ready for his next fishing trip!

Day 2 - The Oasis at The Wharf and Deep Sea Fishing!

After a good night of rest and sleeping late, we were off for a big day of fun! The guys took the boat out and went on a little fishing trip while the girls headed to The Oasis at The Wharf. It is awesome and absolutely beautiful - I would highly recommend it to anyone. You must stay there to use it or, in our case, know someone that has connections - thanks Kate! It was not crowded at all which made it even better. The "kiddie area" had a double slide and this is where we spent the majority of our time - Addison loved the slide. To say that she "loved" going down the slide is an understatement - everyone had their chance to go down with her and then she decided that she could do it all by herself! It was fun for all ages! They had a lazy river that was very relaxing just to float along with the current and then a wave pool. It was awesome! After a full afternoon of pool fun; Addison was down for the count and enjoyed a long afternoon nap. The guys returned from their fishing trip later in the afternoon with quite a "haul". They caught red snapper, king mackeral, and a spanish mackeral - needless to say, we had us another feast for supper. Nathan and Lee headed to the grocery to get all the garnishments that they would need along with some steaks for the non-fish eaters. We had a wonderful meal - Pap and Nate took care of the steak and Lee sauteed fish topped with lump crabmeat and lemon butter sauce. It was the best meal that I ate the entire trip! It's hard to pick just a few pics so I posted them all - enjoy!
Just a short clip of the smiles we enjoyed all day!

Night One - Karaoke Night!

We took at short trip to the beach this past weekend! It was so much fun and we had a great time hanging out with all of the Lindley crew (we missed you Meg and Jason!). I, of course, took lots of pictures so I will try to update you one day at a time so that it is not overload! Pap and Suzy recently bought a gorgeous house on Ono Island and we were glad to help them break it in; we had planned a trip to see Kate, Nate, Sloan, & Molly long before then, but we all enjoyed spending time together. We were able to get away from Jackson a little early on Saturday afternoon and made it to the beach before dark. They have been working hard on the house for the last couple of weekends so it was no surprise when we got there that they were working on something - the guys (& girls) had cleared out a spot for a patio and unloaded the brick right before we got there. The guys finished up the patio then we all enjoyed a feast and everyone vacationed for the rest of our time there! I forgot to mention who all was there - Lee, me, Addison, Kate, Sloan, Molly, Pap, Suzy, Justin, Katie (Justin's girlfriend), Lauren Colby, Austin (LC's boyfriend), and Carey (a friend) - so we had a crowd, but, hey, the more the merrier! After all of our bellies were full we broke out the karaoke machine! For any of you that don't know, the Lindley's all have wonderful voices so I, being the non-singer of the group, enjoyed the entertainment and took snapshots and recorded! We stayed up late and were glad to be on vacation!
For those of you featured in this video that will want to call
and threaten to kill me for putting this on the blog:
1. You all sound great; if I sounded like that I would want to share with everyone!
2. A video is much better than a snapshot!
3. I am pretty sure that most of the people that keep up with us through this blog are family anyway!

Father's Day Weekend

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!

We went to Starkville to spend Father's Day with Pap & Suzy! We had soooo much fun...we hung out by the pool all day Sunday and enjoyed visiting with everyone. Addison loves being in the water and is really figuring out how to kick to get around.

Happy Father's Day Daddy - I love you! Daddy got just what he wanted - some new sunglasses!
Next, Addison was off to help Pap get in to all of his goodies!

Entertainment!

In case you don't already know, we have a little girl that likes to "get down" and likes to make anyone near her "get down" too. It didn't take her long to figure out which button to push on the cell phone to make the music play and we heard this song over and over, but we all laughed every time!

Addison dog-paddling to Daddy! I didn't get to record long because I had to help her out to jump off of the diving board! She's a little daredevil - I have good video footage of her, Lauren Colby, and Austin all jumping holding hands that is really brave of her, but I can't figure out how to load from my video camera so I will have to work on that one.

Summer Grillin' and Father's Day Hints

Last Sunday night, Lee cooked ribs on the grill and needless to say, it didn't take Addison long to figure out how to "suck the meat off of the bone"!!!! These pictures were just too funny not to share!
About a month ago, Lee dropped his Oakley's (that he has had for the last 10 years!) to the bottom of the Reservoir while jet-skiing with some buddies from work. So, he has been hinting around that he would like a new pair for Father's Day! We will have to wait and see, but I guess in the meantime Mr. Potato Head will have to do without his glasses!

Doctor's Appointments

Addison went for her 2 year check-up on June 2nd. She measured in at exactly 3 foot and weighed right at 35 pounds (both above the 95th percentile). She is a big girl, no doubt, but every time I tell people that she is 36 inches tall they always say "You know you are supposed to double your height at age 2 to get how tall you are expected to be." All I can say is if she makes it to 6 foot, her daddy will be a proud man and have her on a basketball court real soon! She had to have her finger pricked and she didn't like that one bit! Once the lady finally stopped squeezing her finger, she never took her eyes off of that vile of blood, she wanted to know exactly what they were planning to do with it. Later that afternoon, Lee took her to get her last round of Hepatitis A and she didn't do too bad. They gave it to her in her arm and he said that she looked at him and said, "Oww Daddy, it hurts" but never did really cry. I called right after that and she answered the phone, "Hey Mommy, I gots a bo-bo." It was so cute and now we are a little bit fascinated with Dora band-aids!

I realized that I haven't really given much of an update on Baby Lindley #2 - no, we haven't decided on a name yet! It is still too early for us - I am afraid that I might change my mind if I pick this early! Anyway, I went to the doctor for my 22 week checkup on June 9th. She has a strong heartbeat and everything seems to be going great. At the 18 week sonogram, all of her measurements were right on track with her due date, with the exception of their comment that she had long legs! My blood pressure has been normal/low and my weight gain pretty steady; the only bad thing is that Dr. Cole did put me on an additional iron pill, but that is nothing to complain about. She is kicking around like crazy; I think that she is a little more active in the womb than her big sister was even though she has more than made up for that since birth! Keep us in your prayers!

Memorial Day Weekend!

After Lindley's wedding, we hung out at Nana's house and ate a delicious supper. Addison loves Molly, so after following her around all night; they decided to pile up in Aunt Kate's lap to get ready for night-night. On Sunday, while Daddy was enjoying a day of golf, we headed to the Lake to visit with Uncle G and Auntie M. They recently bought a lot at the lake and we are so excited to have somewhere fun to go when we are home visiting. They also recently purchased a pontoon boat so we were taking it for a spin! Addison wasn't too sure about her "riding buddy", but she warmed up pretty good to Gizmo!

Addison even got to help Uncle G drive! On Monday, while Daddy was enjoying another day of golf, we blew up Da'be's little swimming pool and Addison enjoyed splashing around while talking to the cows!
